On Friday, April 1, NBC revealed Simon Cowell is returning to television in a big way. He is reportedly replacing Howard Stern as a judge on the hit television show America’s Got Talent. Panelists Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel are expected to remain as judges.
“It was worth the wait to come back to this,” Cowell said. (He was offered the gig five years ago, but couldn’t participate due to scheduling conflicts.)
Cowell is also the co-creator of America’s Got Talent and creator of the global Got Talent franchise. Cowell’s other baby, American Idol, is coming to an end this week with an epic two night finale.
“You have a reputation that precedes you,” Mandel said to Cowell. “It is more fun than we have ever had in the history of this show. We didn’t know that you were going to enjoy yourself so much. If we’re all enjoying ourselves, we feel like we’re at the best party in the world.”
Cowell rose to fame for his not so nice critiques while he was on Idol.
