Doe B‘s death came as total surprise to many, and shocked the hip hop world to a standstill, when it was originally reported. A number of his close friends and family members have spoken out on his behalf and about him, during these tumultuous weeks; emphasizing the tragic nature of the his premature departure and his passion for his music. Fellow artists and rappers have also shared memories and lamented his passing, and with his latest cut, ”Letter 2 The Streets”, Young Scooter has become the most recent.

In the song, Scoot describes the struggle that the streets present and the grip it can have on one’s life. He recounts the moments the two emcees shared, while both on their come up, and his disappointment that one wasn’t able to finally reach the promise land. It is clear that this isn’t a track meant to glorify violence or the hustle, rather to make everyone aware of the dangerous consequences that can come with this lifestyle. Hopefully, someone heeds his warnings and decides against it; instead of having to weep over another talent taken too soon.
