He wasn’t even expected to play.
Hours before Game 4 of the Warriors vs. Blazers West semifinal series, Stephen Curry was listed as “doubtful” for the game. With his team up 2-1, in possession of home court advantage, and with a vengeful Draymond Green spearheading their efforts, GSW wasn’t considered to be in dire need of a dramatic Stephen Curry comeback.
He gave them one anyway.
Curry dropped 40 points last night, including an NBA playoff/regular season record 17 points in the overtime period, to lead his Warriors to a come-from-behind 132-125 victory, pushing the Blazers to the brink of elimination. For every Damian Lillard statement, Curry had an answer, much to the disbelief of Blazers owner Paul Allen.
The Warriors will look to close out the series in Game 5, at home in Oakland, tomorrow night. Considering Curry’s performance last night, it’s pretty safe to say that the knee and ankle are fine.
