Rough couple of weeks for Heidi Cruz, eh?

Ted Cruz ended his bid for the Republican Presidential nomination last week, finally bowing out of a race that was all but decided weeks ago, when Donald Trump emerged victorious from a large portion of the significant primaries and caucuses. After Cruz made his formal withdrawal announcement to a room full of fans and supporters, he elbowed his wife twice in the head during an unfortunate attempt to gather those on stage with him in a group hug.

Today, however, Heidi was not blindsided by the elbow of her failed candidate husband. She instead compared her failed candidate husband’s run at the presidency to the decades-long fight to abolish slavery in America. Those words came out of her mouth, according to the Texas Tribune, during a conference call with Cruz’s national prayer team today.

I don’t want you to feel like any of this was in vain. I believe in the power of prayer. This doesn’t always happen on the timing of man, and God does not work in four-year segments.

Wait for it…

Be full of faith and so full of joy that this team was chosen to fight a long battle… It took 25 years to defeat slavery. That is a lot longer than four years.

Oh, Heidi. Was that the only politically-related battle you could drum up? One pales so much in comparison to the other, it’s not even funny.
