Now, you don’t have to travel all the way to Coachella
It was announced towards the end of last year that Coachella would feature two very special hip-hop veterans: Big Boi and Andre 3000, together.
Outkast will be headlining California’s crown jewel music festival, Coachella, in April of this year, which is a bit of news that would send even the most determined penny-pinching rap fan flying to the airport. Outkast hasn’t worked together since 2006′s Idlewild, and there’s been some noticeable separation between Big Boi & Andre in recent years, leading to the conclusion that they’d never work together again, let alone perform together. Well, east coast rap fans, fear no more. The annual Governors Ball, held on New York City’s Randalls Island, will be headlined by none other than Outkast in June. The festival, which last played host to a headlining pre-Yeezus Kanye West last summer, will be the site of one of the biggest reunions in hip-hop history. The rest of the line-up has yet to be announced, but this announcement alone makes the Governors Ball one of the premier things to do this summer.
The better question is, what did this tweet mean?
