Last month, Big Sean and Jhené Aiko teamed up to form the potent TWENTY88 duo, and released an 8-track LP without much warning. Featuring guest spots from K-Ci & Jojo and Detail, the project played out like the brief arc of a whirlwind romance, culminating in an R&B song that Sean wrote, “London Bridge.”
The project was well-received by many; Sean and Aiko’s pre-existing chemistry was noted as one of the reasons TWENTY88 was a successful venture. Chart-wise, the project experienced success as well, debuting at #5 on the Billboard 200 despite being available strictly on TIDAL in the first four days following its release.
Well, fans of the steamy project are holding their breaths today, thanks to an interview Big Sean did with Power 106.1. On the J Cruz Show, Sean teased the fact that he and Aiko have more music in store. “I love this project. I think it’s a project that we’re just going to keep building on, and it’s something that we can come back to. That’s why we made it a group, feel me?” Sean was of course referring to the fact that not only did he and Aiko named their album TWENTY88, they refer to themselves collectively as a group of the same name.
