A couple of armed robbers usurped  a video game store in Silver Spring, Maryland last week, and despite their weaponry, very nearly met their match in a riled up 7-year-old kid.

Okay, maybe not very nearly. But this is still the most badass thing you’ve seen all week. When the two armed robbers entered the Maryland Game Stop, they ordered the boy and two other people-including his father–out of the way and up against a wall. What happened next was a shock to everyone, including the man wielding the gun. A 7-year-old boy, obviously furious at what these two total bozos were doing on sacred ground, man, ran up to one of the armed individuals, and began socking him in his midsection.

Thankfully, in the brief scuffle that ensued, the boy was dragged behind a counter and unharmed, and was unable to stop the inevitable: both criminals made away with cash from the register. However, it made for some seriously bizarre surveillance footage and one proud ass father. (From Washington D.C. Fox 5.)

We didn’t completely understand why. Of course, we think our son is brave and a strong kid. But we didn’t exactly know why and when we saw the tape, we saw why. Because he saw somebody who was a stranger, who seemed most dangerous to him and he tried to defend himself. I think it was his natural instinct taking over there.

Watch the footage above, and hope you one day grow up to be as bold as this kid.
