It looks like we’re finally getting some new music from Vic Mensa.
After signing to Roc Nation and dropping his “U Mad” anthem, featuring Kanye West, Vic Mensa went silent, outside of occasional features and occasionally teasing his major label debut album, Traffic. We now know that before the album drops, we’ll get a new mixtape from the Chicago rep, There’s Alot Going On, which comes out this Friday (June 3).
There’s Alot Going On will be Vic’s first solo project since his breakthrough INNANNETTAPE mixtape, which was released at the end of September in 2013. A lot has happened since then, as he’s appeared on Kanye West’s new album, performed on SNL, signed to Jay Z, gone on major tours, and seen his celebrity explode, all off just one project.
There isn’t much other information about the tape, outside of its rapidly approaching release date, but you can check out its official artwork below.
