Last night, Pusha T and Jay Z put out a face-melter of a record, “Drug Dealers Anonymous,” that was apparently inspired by news anchor Tomi Lahren‘s scolding comments to Beyonce in February. It was the first time Jay Z hopped on a solo Pusha T record, and it was welcomed widely by the Hip Hop community, which had been waiting several years to see arguably the two greatest drug-talk rappers of all-time tango.

We know it took a little connecting-the-dots for Jay Z to hop on Fat Joe and Remy Ma‘s “All The Way Up” remix; the process was helped along by a little nudging from both Memphis Bleek and Noreaga. So, what did it take this time around for Hov to hop on the track? Speaking with Genius, Pusha T revealed what his and Jay Z’s e-mail exchange looked like, and it’s as fascinating as you’d expect. Initially, it seemed that Pusha T was only hinting at getting Hov on the record, after he got the idea co-signed by Kanye West. However, as you can see, Hov quickly took to the song (and its inspiration), and it wasn’t long before he’d sent back “48 bars of bad.”

Check out a snippet of the exchange below, and the full thing here.
