For several weeks, the music industry has been buzzing with expectations and predictions in anticipation of DJ Khaled‘s upcoming single, “I Got the Keys,” a collaboration with Future and Jay Z.
When pictures of Future and Hov meeting up in several locations surfaced on social media, including backstage at one of Beyonce‘s Formation shows, a collaboration wasn’t necessarily the first thing that popped into most people’s heads. After all, Future isn’t generally the type of lyrics-heavy street rapper that Jay Z collaborates with. However, during an interview on Hot 97, Khaled confirmed that one of the greatest to ever do it and one of the hottest on the planet have in fact teamed up for a record, called “I Got the Keys.”

As if Future and Jay Z linking up for a song wasn’t enough, Khaled appears to have created something very special with the yet-to-be-released track’s music video. Though yesterday was a busy evening for Jay, as he was present at the CFDA Awards to see Bey accept the Fashion Icon award, he showed up to star in the video, alongside Future, Khaled, and several other stars.

Images that leaked out from the shoot show the song’s stars posted with 2 Chainz, A$AP Ferg, and Swizz Beatz, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, and Fabolous. and there’s a possibility that other participants may not have been pictured (Roc Nation’s Lenny S revealed in an Instagram post that photographers and social media wasn’t allowed at the shoot). Today, in the aforementioned IG post, Lenny touched briefly on just what went down at that shoot, and alluded to it being a pretty big deal for Hip Hop fans.
Khaled, possibly the biggest summer enthusiast in the business, is reportedly looking to have his new album, Major Key, out next month, so it might not be long before we’re treated to “I Got the Keys.”
That means we aren’t far away from this epic looking video, either. Not bad so far 2016. Not bad.
