Last night’s Toronto Raptors game against the Brooklyn Nets was significant in more ways than one. Other than it being a chance to slow down one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference (yes, you read that right), last night was also #DrakeNight at Air Canada Centre. Drake has showed no shortage of support for his hometown team, even before being named global ambassador, wearing a vintage Vince Carter jersey in DJ Khaled‘s music video for “No New Friends”, and consistently Instagramming his view of the game when he’s at the arena. The Raptor’s president named Drake the team’s global ambassador shortly after the beginning of the current NBA season, and to commemorate that, last night’s Drake Night featured a visibly excited Drake in attendance, Raptor’s players wearing Drake’s yet-to-be-released OVO x Air Jordan collaboration, OVO merchandise giveaways, and, well, Drake antics. In case you happen to live in the continental United States, and couldn’t make it out to T-Dot in time for the game, Drake made sure to keep everybody abreast of what was happening on Instagram, so we’ll relay the message(s).
