We now know that very early this morning, a man named Omar Mateen, who pledged allegiance to ISIS in a 911 call shortly before he opened fire, killed 50 people at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. There are reports that he used an AR-15, which is an automatic assault weapon generally associated with military use. The current POTUS, Barack Obama, just gave a statement minutes ago that this was an attack of “terror” and “hate.” It would be hard to disagree with that sentiment given the facts.

Donald Trump, however, has taken a different route in assessing the damage that the shooter has caused to countless lives and families, families that should be kept in prayers and away from political frameworks and agendas. After acknowledging affected families, Trump tweeted that he ‘appreciates the congrats’ on being “right” about radical Islamic terrorism.

50 lives were taken in cold blood, and the Republican Presidential nominee is geeked that it means one of his many bewildering points were somehow proven. Welcome to the world.
