Earlier this week, ScHooboy Q revealed the standard edition artwork for his sophomore album, Blank Face LP, the TDE rapper’s first project since his first studio album, Oxymoron, dropped in 2014. It immediately trended on Twitter, which made sense considering it made use of the most popular meme across all social media.
Michael Jordan‘s infamous “Crying Jordan” face was the face that had been blanked for SBQ’s standard artwork (pictured above), and this time around its professional troll artist—oh, he’s also the Republican Presidential nominee—Donald Trump that gets his face smudged off for ScHoolboy’s newest artwork, the cover to the deluxe version of this album.
We don’t have much context concerning Blank Face LP; ScHooboy has yet to publicly speak on why he chose that title, these artworks, or the two singles he’s released thus far, “Groovy Tony” and “THat Part” featuring Kanye West. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not he actually chooses to explain his vision before the album drops on July 8, or whether he allows the music and art to speak for itself.
Either way, Blank Face LP, 7/8. Groovy Q is back.
