Early in May, Alicia Keys took the Saturday Night Live stage to perform her infectious new dancehall-inspired single, “In Common,” as well as debut a new song, the spirited redemption song, “Hallelujah,” both of which received widespread praise.

Today, Keys has finally unleashed her “Hallelujah” record, expected to be the second single off her forthcoming, yet-to-be-titled studio album. We’re seeing several facets of Keys’ ability as she preps her first LP since 2012’s Girl on Fire, from Caribbean-flavored releases to the piano-driven, vocal-centric cuts like “Hallelujah,” which is reminiscent of past emotional Alicia Keys ballads that have made her career a legendary one.
