If you take your time to hear me, maybe you can learn to cheer me

Tupac_MusicalThis year will make 18 years that the self-proclaimed big mouthed-having, never hesitant to bite his tongue, Thug Life-repping, poetry-penning Tupac Shakur was taken away from us as a result of a tragic shooting. Fortunately enough for us, Shakur’s music and the legacy that he has left behind has lived on.

If you’re a Tupac fan, or simply a hip-hop fan in general, I’m sure you will be able to appreciate the Tupac-inspired musical, Holler If Ya Hear Me, that has been in the works.

Kenny Leon, widely known for the notable work he’s done on Broadway plays such as the remake of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, Fences, The Mountaintop, etc., serves as the director behind the musical.

Though non-biographical, Holler If Ya Hear Me will take you inside the life of one of hip-hop’s most prominent artists. If you’re a resident of the Big Apple, don’t miss opening night on June 19 at the Palace Theatre.
