It’s become clear to most people that Desiigner will likely be much more than “Panda.” With the potent G.O.O.D. Music engine, powered by Kanye West, Pusha T and Def Jam, behind him, the Brooklyn rapper’s career certainly has enough early gas to push through the criticisms that have hovered over his ascent. His first mixtape, New English, was released over the weekend, and an acappella freestyle for XXL‘s Freshman campaign quickly went viral, primarily due to the fact that it wasn’t much of a freestyle at all.

Timmy, Timmy, Timmy Turner

He’s been wishing for a burner

To kill everybody walking

Know that his soul’s in the furnace

Outside of a couple other lines, repeating that brief stanza twice is all the freestyle consisted of, and the internet was quickly in an uproar. What did it mean? Who was Timmy Turner? (It was later deducted that, given the context, Timmy Turner was a reference to the fictional main character of Nickelodeon cartoon Fairly Oddparents, Timmy Turner, who would wish for outlandish things that his “fairy godparents” would often grant him.) The acappella vocals were remixed by DJs from all over, and Desiigner had stolen the show once again.

As it turns out, those four lines comprise much more than a freestyle for a magazine. In the above video clip, you can see Desiigner and Mike Dean chilling at Dean’s studio, working on a new Desiigner song that apparently features Travi$ Scott. The chorus? It’s the viral “freestyle” over a menacing instrumental that sounds right up both Desiigner and Scott’s alley.

Mr. “Panda” may have his follow-up hit.
