Toronto rapper and XO artist Derek Wise returns to the masses with a brand new song titled “Had To Wake Up.” Derek’s history in the city’s burgeoning new Hip Hop scene is no mystery and his buzz has consistently been growing, especially in Toronto, as he signed to XO and even made an appearance in The Weeknd’s “King Of The Fall” video. His most recent cameo was in Future‘s music video for “Colossal”.

Over the years Wise has remained busy immersing himself in the underground scene which Toronto is becoming known for. He impressively channeled all of the obstacles he faced into crafting an equally vivid imagery through his music; there’s always a variety of textured sounds that describe his aesthetic.

Two years back an unfortunate incident happened, according to Vice Canada, news broke that the Toronto rapper caught 15-charges. It was the topic of every online magazine. Wise took to Twitter recently to announce all of his charges has been cleared and he’s ready to claim his spot with a bonus track for his fans.

That’s not all though, earlier today XO’s label boss The Weeknd quoted the rapper’s lyrics, as well as many fans who showed love to the Glam God.
