The captain of the fiends has a new video to celebrate a successful 2013.
Bas is poised for a great 2014 and its no coincidence. He began the year as J. Cole‘s understudy and quickly blossomed into a surefire solo talent of his own, releasing one of the better mixtapes of the year, Quarter Water Raised Me Vol. 2, and becoming an imperative part of one of the better rap tours of the year (What Dreams May Come with Wale and Vic Mensa). The lead single from QWRM2, “Lit”, featuring J. Cole, and their other collaboration of this year (“Cousins”), gave fans of both artists a chance to hear them rap side by side, and the end result left little room for doubt concerning Bas’ talents. On “Love Souvenir”, the Queens native takes his time over Calvin Harris production and shows off why his solo talents are underrated by most, but probably won’t be for long. His delivery is brisk and stout, but sure and purposeful, making “Love Souvenir” the standout track from his latest project deserving of a video. Watch out for Bas in 2014.
