New York City is a lot of things. With a population of more than eight million people, there’s an infinite amount of stories that are held within the city limits. Director A.V. Rockwell compiled those stories in her visual mixtape, “Open City.” The mixtape, called an “ode to the cultural capital,” features short films, each displayed beautifully in black and white.
Her latest, “B.L.B.” follows a young boy from the Bronx who wants to “get money” to buy a gun. Though he causes trouble along the way, we see that “bad little boy” has his reasoning for the purchase.
