The mom-to-be speaks on recently-announced pregnancy, and more!
In an 18½ minute interview with The Huffington Post, 28-year-old mom-to-be Ciara opens up about her recently-announced pregnancy, her forthcoming sixth studio album, and her respect for Beyoncé. The glowing multi-talented artist also spoke on her partnership with Degree Woman.
“This new journey that I’m doing with Degree Women.. and it’s about encouraging women to do more of what they love, and encouraging them to work hard, and to keep going towards your dreams and never giving up. And in my case, I really relate to that. Being a performer I’m all about striving for success…”
Ciara went on to explain the obstacles that even she, as an entertainer, has to face and how people presume her life to be perfect.
“I think that when people look at what I do, they think it’s a perfect world and everything is easy. And it’s really hard. You know, the journey to success is not an easy one,” said Ciara.
When asked about her peers in the music industry, such as Beyoncé and whether her recent album pushed her to up her artistry, Ciara had this to say, “I have a lot of respect for her, I respect any woman that works hard and gets success from the hard work that they put into it. And you know, for someone like her, she’s been around for almost 20 years, if I’m not mistaken. Or at least a good 15. I’m going on 10, you know? And so, when I look at women like her, if anything you can only get inspired when you see other women like yourself striving to achieve their goals.”
