With the many economic hardships people face, is it a shocker that former Roc-a-Fella affiliate Memphis Bleek is filing for Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Rapper Memphis Bleek has work that includes; 534 (“05), Bedstuy Do or Die (“05), and more recently The Movement 2 (“14). Although there are many mix-tapes available for purchase, the Final LP for Memphis Bleek was in 2005.  With royalties that totaled to $6, 949 in the year of 2014 and $6,686 in 2015.  This along with other income did not carry a greater value than his liabilities.

In the year of 2015, Memphis Bleek documented that his assets totaled to $274,190 and 384,804.91 for liabilities with over $300,000 owed for New Jersey home. Documents also state that $24,000 is due for a Chevy Impala and $22,000 owed to The Internal Revenue Service. The woes that many artists experience shows that a single career-path is not enough to sustain the “famous lifestyle”.  Better to file for bankruptcy then get jail time for tax evasion.
