On Friday [July 15], Armando Christian Pérez aka Pitbull aka Mr. World Wide received a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Notables who came to support their friend included Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell, Tony Robbins and Lil Jon. Pitbull’s star is located on Celia Cruz Square. This is significant because Cruz is one of his idols. The mega star has sold 70 million singles, six million albums and his social media reaches 90 million people daily.
“I use these platforms to speak to you all and for you all to understand that for me it’s never been about money, it’s never been about fame—It’s been about a journey. And that journey being that it’s about our culture. It’s about coming from nothing to something … It’s about being the prime example of what the American dream is and what it embodies,” he said during the ceremony.
Pitbull recently kicked off his summer headlining tour on July 7. His special openers are Prince Royce and Farruko.
