T.I. announced big plans for 2016 earlier this year, when he signed a deal with Roc Nation and Tidal for the release of his 10th studio album, The Dime Trap, and he’s just added to the year’s agenda.

The Atlanta rapper and actor recently announced a new mixtape, Us or Else, in his interview with Ebro in the Morning on Hot 97. The mixtape will be aimed at supporting the #BlackLivesMatter movement, and will speak explicitly about the twisted road race relations took in America to arrive at its current precarious state. You can watch his chat with Ebro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez above.

Tip is no stranger to social commentary. The rapper has been outspoken in interviews and on social media in the past–he once infamously declared that he was unsure if a “woman” was fit to lead the country in reference to Hillary Clinton–and recently appeared in a television reboot of Roots. Tip was vocal about being inspired by the character he portrayed, Cyrus, and had this to say about Roots‘ role in Black history.

“From the time you’re born to the time you die, you’re supposed to be seeking knowledge and truth. This is a piece of it. This is a huge, huge chapter, so I think it’s incredibly important.”

Tip didn’t reveal an official release date for Us or Else, but given current affairs, we’d be hard-pressed to believe he’ll wait until 2017 to drop it.
