Chance The Rapper will embark on his Magnificent Coloring Tour next month, where he’ll undoubtedly be performing fan favorites off his May mixtape, Coloring Book, which went on to become the first-ever stream-only project to debut on the Billborad 200. The tour kicks off in San Francisco, and will make stops in Los Angeles, New York, Detroit and more, but for the tour’s stop in Chance’s native home of Chicago, he’s got something ultra special planned.
Chance has been putting on for Chicago ever since his breakthrough mixtape, Acid Rap, gave him an international platform. Chance has worked with the city’s politicians, held “Open Mic” events for aspiring vocal artists, and worn his Chicago White Sox everywhere–even to bed, if you let him tell it. Today’s announcement, however, is the biggest event Chance will have ever hosted in Chi-town.
Instead of a regular tour stop, Chance will play the “Magnificent Coloring Day,” a one-day music festival featuring Tyler The Creator, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Skrillex, 2 Chainz, Lil Uzi Vert, Chicago native John Legend and “special guests.” Tickets go on sale today, so be sure to scrape those coins up.
