Jidenna‘s explosion into the mainstream, courtesy of Janelle Monae‘s Wondaland collective’s partnership with Epic Records, came on the heels of two hits: Monae’s “Yoga” and Jidenna’s “Classic Man.” Both songs helped establish the well-traveled Nigerian-American as a forward-thinking renaissance artist able to execute nostalgia without slighting the current-day sound and atmosphere.
For his next act, Jidenna will likely release his major label solo debut–he appeared on Wondaland’s The Euphus EP last year–and he appears to have yet another summer smash to support it. After previewing the single in New York City several weeks ago and releasing the song earlier this month, Jidenna has dropped the official music video for “Little Bit More,” the dancehall banger poised to be his next candidate for song of the summer.
