The highly-anticipated “worst heroes ever” movie, Suicide Squad, starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and more, drops this Friday on August 5. The film’s been teased with trailers and exclusive clips for the better part of the last year, and they hype is at an all-time high just days before its due date.
What’s also been teased relentlessly over the last few months has been the film’s soundtrack, helmed by Atlantic Records. We’ve already heard songs from Rick Ross and Skrillex and Kehlani off the movie’s corresponding compilation, and today we’ve got as scintillating posse cut from Action Bronson, Mark Ronson and guitarist Dan Auerbach.
This cut will give Bronson fans pause at its onset, as Auerbach leads with his raspy vocals and slow-brooding guitar strums, but they quickly give way to a classic boom-bap tempo, which Bronson attacks with noted fervor.
“Standing in the Rain” serves as a reboot of Oran Jones‘ 1980’s “The Rain,” which was Auerbach’s idea to revive. Listen to it below, courtesy of Zane Lowe‘s “World Record” on Beats1 Radio.
