iLoveMakonnen has stepped out of the shadows today with the release of a new mixtape, Red Trap Dragon, executive-produced by Danny Wolf, the architect of one of Makonnen’s biggest recent cuts, “Trust Me Danny.” After it was revealed that Makonnen’s relationship with Drake’s OVO Sound label had come to an end, the Atlanta rapper began teasing retirement and a new career direction, but luckily for fans he didn’t follow through on the former. Makonnen is still signed to OVO’s parent label, Warner Bros., which is where we can expect to see his forthcoming debut album featuring reported contributions from Diplo, Snoop Dogg and Rihanna.
