On Thursday, August 11, a former Warner Bros. employee published an open letter to the company’s CEO Kevin Tsujihara about “layoffs, Zack Snyder and donuts.” The employee complained that Suicide Squad was really bad and commented on the studio’s recent “failures,” including Adam Sandler‘s Blended, Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys, Edge of Tomorrow, Man From UNCLE and The Hobbit Trilogy. The employee also took shots at Batman V Superman director Snyder and questioned why the studio continues to reward him despite lackluster blockbuster results. This particular employee is bitter for being laid off and is saddened that many colleagues are being let go.
The portion of the letter that turned heads was a reference to Patty Jenkins’ upcoming project Wonder Woman. The author wrote:
Don’t try to hide behind the great trailer. People inside are already confirming it’s another mess. It is almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same producers and executives for making the same mistakes, over and over.
The trailer was the buzz of Comic-Con and the film looks fierce. Yesterday [Friday, August 12], Jenkins fired back on twitter:
