Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. has booked a new gig. He impressed the world when he played his father in Oscar-winning film Straight Outta Compton. Now he will play Aubrey Plaza’s love interest in indie film Ingrid Goes West. The dark comedy also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Wyatt Russell and Billy Magnussen.
The film tells the story of a young woman named Ingrid (Plaza) who becomes obsessed with social media star Taylor Sloane (Olsen). She has a seemingly perfect life. When Ingrid decides to drop everything and move West to befriend Taylor, her behavior turns unsettling and increasingly dangerous. Magnussen and Russell will play Sloane’s brother and husband, respectively. Plaza will also serve as a producer on the project.
Russell is also part of Hollywood Royalty as his parents are Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. His half-sister is Kate Hudson. Magnussen recently played Kato Kaelin in Fox hit The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
The film is directed by Matt Spicer, and is co-written by Spicer and David Branson Smith.
