This past weekend, a handful of graff artists from NYC trekked across country for Part 1 of the “JFK 2 LAX” Art and Graffiti Tour. Artists include JAYLO YNN, NEAK HL, POR HL, NOCK 718, VEDO, ZD as well as a host of West Side graff writers who laid out the red carpet for the brothers from the Rotten Apple.
The weekend long event began at the City Of Los Angeles’ City Hall, which recognized and saluted the cross country art movement at Art Wars L.A., which was put together by the “Queen of DTLA” Christina Smith and The Vandal Hour Gods, who have a graffiti-based talk show of the same name on DTF Radio based in Brooklyn.
The team visited Rip City Skate Shop in Santa Monica for their “Vandal Hour On Scene” segmnet of their show before the first “JFK 2 LAX” show in Burbank at Jimmy’s Place. VH co-host Facts On Wax interviewed KING CRE8, one of Cali’s legendary graff artists, who took the team out to South Central where they were able to get up some nice non-permission pieces on Slauson Avenue.
The second show was held on Saturday evening at the Garage Gallery where the NYC squad and a few other LA artists was interviewed by LA’s Get Loaded TV.
