Mike Epps and Tip “T.I.” Harris are co-starring in and producing a new comedy The Trap. Chris Robinson is on board to direct while Epps and Harris and play brothers in the film, which is centered around a restaurant.
Queen Latifah also serves as a producer through her Flavor Unit Entertainment company with Shakim Compere. They hope to begin filming this fall. In the film, Harris’ character returns home to Atlanta to help save the dilapidated restaurant run by his brother (Epps) and mother. According to Variety, a change in the chicken recipe revives the location.
This isn’t the first time Harris has worked with Robinson. He directed T.I. in 2006 classic ATL, as well. The Trap marks their second feature film project together. In addition to releasing nine albums, T.I. has starred in Get Hard, Ant-Man, Identity Thief, and the Roots miniseries. Epps recently starred on ABC’s Uncle Buck and Freestyle’s Meet the Blacks.
