Over the weekend, Douglas Brooks, who was also known as “Swipey” to local rap fans, was gunned down at a party at his mother’s house in Suitland, Maryland.

The 18 year old Maryland resident was a well known artists in the DMV area and abroad, having shared the stage with the likes of DC native Wale and Fat Joe, according to Brooks’ manager Kevin Baldwin.

Brooks was found shot just after 1 am on Parkway Terrace Drive in Suitland, where he was pronounced dead on the scene. Police believe that Brooks’ killing was not random and that an investigation is ongoing.
