Despite claims that Lil Wayne‘s claims that Cash Money was refusing to release Tha Carter V, a new report from TMZ claims the rapper is the one withholding the album.

According to the site, Weezy is in sole possession of the master recordings of Tha Carter V and will not give them to Birdman and Cash Money until he gets paid.

The report also states that Wayne is using Tha Carter V for leverage during his ongoing legal battle with Cash Money. The rapper sued Cash Money for $51 million in 2014, claiming the label refused to release Tha Carter V and didn’t properly compensate him for the success of Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga. Weezy also claims he is owed $8 million in advance money for his work on Tha Carter V and another $2 million he was supposed to receive upon its completion.

During a recent interview with Skip Bayless, Wayne revealed that the comments he made earlier this month about feeling “mentally defeated,” referred to Birdman. “I have a family. I have kids. I have a mother. We got bills. This is just business,” the rapper told Bayless. “Once the business is right, everything is right.”

Lil Wayne’s $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money is still pending.
