According to reports, ATL rapper Shawty Lo was killed in a hit and run accident late last night.
Lo, whose real name is Carlos Walker, was one of the founding members of Dirty South rap collective D4L, the crew who created the 2005 hit record “Laffy Taffy.” Though he was incarcerated during the song’s apex, upon his release, Shawty Lo embarked on a solo career of his own, dropping his solo debut album “Units In The City” in 2008. On his debut, he scored the biggest hit of his career with the repititious hook “Dey Know”.
Shawty Lo was 40 years old at the time of his death. More reports about the accident will be updated as the story develops.
