Sometimes standing up for your beliefs may result in a huge amount of scrutiny. But if one powerful voice can open ears and minds for the world to discuss something major, then you have done your job properly.

Unfortuntaely, San Franscisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is the prime example of being hated for doing something extraordinary and taking a major risk of building a brand. According to a recent poll conducted by E-Poll Market Research, 1,100 Americans voted Kaepernick has NFL’s Most Disliked Player. 29% dislike the former Nevada standout “a lot” mainly due to his protest of not standing up for the national anthem. Coming in 2nd place is Miami Dolphins pass rusher Ndamukong Suh, then he is followed by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

There has been a major turn around for Kaepernick as he was amongst the league’s rising stars while becoming the face of the 49ers as he led the 49ers to a Super Bowl birth in 2013 then followed up with a NFC Championship Game appearance in 2014. But the following year, Colin struggled which led to him currently being benched as Blaine Gabbert is the main general leading San Francisco in the pocket.

Many sources are saying Colin is disliked based off of racial lines as 37% of Caucasians thinks what Kaepernick actions are considered unpatriotic and disrespectful to the military officers. Even though, Kaepernick is not making a huge change on the field, he’s making touchdown plays off of it as the conversation and awareness is alive and in due time, real change will come.
