Celebrations Take Part Across Country As Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Gay Marriage

North Carolina’s anti-gay “bathroom bill” has been the center of a lot of controversy this year — and “The Daily Show” decided to put the bill to the test.

The state’s discriminatory HB2 bill, which was passed in March, restricts transgender people from using the restroom that corresponds with their gender identity and also allows businesses to discriminate based on sexual orientation. In one segment, in order to test the law, Roy Wood, Jr. and fellow correspondent Jordan Klepper decided to rent a food truck and create a fake barbecue company called Bone Brothers Flamin’ BBQ to show what HB2 is like in action by refusing to serve gay people or anyone who they simply think might be gay in Raleigh, North Carolina.

There results proved that most people were uncomfortable with blatant discrimination, with one correspondent concluding, “Wow! That is so weird! It’s as if people don’t like arbitrary discrimination.”

Such an eye-opening segment from The Daily Show. Check out the funny clip above.
