Swin Cash has been a winner on every level. She won three WNBA Championships, two NCAA National Championships and two Olympic gold medals.
Cash, 37, retired after a 15 year WNBA career.
What’s next? Cash appeared on today’s episode of Scoop B Radio to discuss her next step.
Cash has already been doing television work as an analyst during the WNBA playoffs had this to say when asked about what a television director or producer would have to bring to the table in order to nab her in a full-time role.
“I think the ability to be myself. Understanding that I would like the opportunity to continue to grow. I love direction; I’m very critical of myself so I want to have the ability to grow and to not be put into a box. I think sometimes you look at a female covering male sports and sometimes people get put into a box and I still need someone to understand that I was not born to be put into a box. So giving me that ability to really grow and not look at me as just a female analyst, but look at me as just an analyst is what I would probably want. And also I’m not looking to just do sports. I’m looking to cross over and to be able to host and do entertainment and do other things. So I want to spread my wings and I’m just looking for the right people to open those doors and allow me to do that.”
When pressed by the show’s host Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson about the possibility of hosting ABC’s Good Morning America, she stated:
“Well I love Robin [Roberts] and I love Michael [Strahan] and both of them have been very instrumental in my groove on the television side. They’ve opened up their arms in allowing me to even shadow them and see what it’s like to be part of that television grind. So, hopefully one day.”
