Grand Rapids officials are now investigating a shooting that took place early Sunday morning [October 9, 2016], leaving one man dead, and at least eight others injured.
According Sergeant Terry Dixon, a total of nine people were shot at a large party taking place in the 1800 block of the city’s 28th Street SE.
Officers responded to the scene at approximately 3:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a party at a Clearance Outlet Store. It was while they were en route that officers were notified of shots fired.

Upon arrival, a black male, who remains unidentified, in his early 20s was discovered dead with an apparent gunshot wound. All others who were wounded were rushed to a near by hospital.
According to Sergeant Dixon, police are still on the search for a suspect.
