We know, you’ve heard this one before.
Over the past few years — as recent as 2012 — there have been several rumors surrounding Max B‘s premature release from his 75-year jail sentence. Max Biggavelli, whose name is a combination of the Notorious B.I.G. (Biggie), Jay-Z (Jigga) and Tupac (Makavelli) has been in prison since 2009 for conspiracy in a botched robbery and kidnapping that resulted in a homicide.
While there have been many attempts to free the troubled rapper, in the form of several failed appeals, a fan-driven online fundraiser and more recently a petition to President Obama for a pardon, a newer and more realistic remedy might finally liberate the self proclaimed “Boss Don”. Amalgam Digital, Max’s record label up until his incarceration, has recently sold the rights to his catalog to a new company who plans to revamp his legal defense. Their hope is to get Max off with time served, granting him a release as soon as 2016.
Amalgam Digital CEO, Anyextee said “[Max] and his family were excited about this as the company we sold it to has agreed to put up the required capital to fund a proper legal defense using the defense attorneys that we always wanted to use.” He also mentioned a documentary about Max B in the works entitled “Charly Rambo: The Max B Story”, which will feature unreleased music by the artist.
