Two weeks ago Jay-Z signed a new deal with The Weinstein Company, indicating that the Roc Nation captain would be pursuing new goals within the film industry. Since then he has announced THREE new television projects that will begin in the near future (according to “Page Six”). His new biopic on Richard Pryor (directed by Lee Daniels) and his documentary on the life of Kalief Browder were revealed to the public shortly after his deal began to surface.

Despite being involved in two television projects already, Jay-Z is producing an NBC drama about the Nicholas “The Reaper” Irving. For those unaware, Irving was the first African-American special ops sniper in the United States Army. It will star Emmy Award-Winning actor Sterling K. Brown.

The series is based off of  “The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers.” The novel tells the story of Irving, and how he reported an astounding 44 kills within a four-month span back in 2009. Jay and company are expected to start filming early 2017. Let us know what you think about Jay-Z’s new plans!
