Alex Trebek isn’t here for “nerds” rapping about science fiction – at all.
The longtime Jeopardy host was doing what he does best when a contestant on the game show described the underground music genre of nerdcore hip-hop to him. When Trebek said, “Your favorite type of music is something I’ve never heard of, but it doesn’t sound like fun,” the slightly offended contestant defended the genre, responding, “I think it’s very fun. It’s called nerdcore hip-hop. It’s people who identify as nerdy rapping about the things they love: video games, science fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners. It’s really catchy and fun.”
Trebek called nerdcore hip-hop enthusiasts “losers,” then said he was only teasing and the show went on. Watch his hilariously savage moment above.
