With the impending release of the extremely hyped Google Glass, Samsung is looking to corner the market of eager tech enthusiasts who want to get their hands on the futuristic equipment early. Samsung has reportedly been working on the yet-to-be-named smart glasses since last May, which are rumored to debut this September at IFA in Berlin.
It should come as no surprise that Samsung is trying to beat their competition to the punch — they’ve already released their Galaxy Gear smart watch while Apple‘s iWatch is still in limbo. ” The reason is simple. The market potential for smart glass is huge. It will be used in trucks, cars and has a greater impact on related industries such as glass- and coatings-makers,” an anonymous Samsung official told the Korea Times. The official release date for the smart glasses has yet to be announced.
