Nicki Minaj says she could never “slam” the “man/genius who gave her one of her biggest looks of her career.”
Nicki Minaj covered Marie Claire’s latest issue where she discussed racism. sexism and also criticized the industry which some publications may have taken out of context.
“I’m so tired of black women feeling that when our men get rich, they’re going to leave them for a woman of a different race,” she told the magazine referencing Kanye’s #1 single, “Gold Digger.” “It wasn’t funny when Kanye said, ‘When he get on, he’ll leave your ass for a white girl’—and Kanye happens to be with a white girl now,” she said.
After Cosmopolitan flipped Nicki’s words, the rapper responded directly to Cosmopolitan’s tweet on the story. “Slams” a man/genius who gave me one of the biggest looks of my career?” she wrote. “I said he wasn’t kidding, he was speaking the TRUTH about d industry.”
Minaj suggested that Kanye was only speaking the truth and wasn’t apologetic for his choices. Nicki’s Marie Claire issue is now on stands.
