As we previously reported Oct 15th, Univsion aired the “RiseUp As ONE” concert on the border between Mexico and the US in San Diego.

The event which aired on over 126 tv and radio stations featured inspiring performances from Los Tigres Del Norte who kicked off the show with a performance of “Somos Más Americanos.”  Also a fiery performance by San Diego native Andra Day who was backed by a choir.

Students from the Berklee College of Music later joined Alejandro Sanz to perform  “Looking for Paradise.” Lila Downs debuting brand new song “Demagogue” that will launch this Friday on SoundCloud. Univision also debuted a music video by Fonseca and Debi Nova which is the official “RiseUp” song during the event. Check it out below.

The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon saluted the event: “As the world confronts an upsurge of intolerance, we must meet this challenge by upholding human rights for all. I salute the organizers of the ‘RiseUp AS ONE’ concert for bringing people together to celebrate diversity, pluralism, and our common humanity,” he said. “By staying together, we can illuminate a path towards a more just, equal and positive future.”

“La Banda’s” Alejandra Espinoza hosted the event and award-winning journalist Jorge Ramos, along with Nando Vila and Natasha del Toro. They were joined by special guests including Gael García Bernal and Jonás Cuarón of “Desierto,” Mía Maestro, Wilmer Valderrama and more.
