Nicki Minaj doesn’t want any problems with Kanye West.
The rap queen made headlines this week after referencing a famous line about Black men becoming successful and leaving their women for White girls from ‘Ye’s 2005 hit “Gold Digger” in her Marie Claire interview. She told the mag, “I’m so tired of black women feeling that when our men get rich, they’re going to leave them for a woman of a different race. It wasn’t funny when Kanye said ‘When he get on, he’ll leave your a*** for a white girl’ – and Kanye happens to be with a white girl now. It wasn’t funny when he said it; it was the f***ing truth.”
But after the Nickster was called out for allegedly “slamming” ‘Ye, she took to Twitter to clarify her position:
By “one of the biggest looks of my career,” Nicki was referring to her feature on Kanye West’s mega-hit song “Monster.”
At least we know Ms. Minaj will keep it as real as Yeezy.
