In 2016, it is well known that folks foolishly take their beefs online. Social media timelines have become veritable graffiti-tagged walls for young gangbangers throughout the country. This phenomenon, where youngsters discuss their illicit, gang activities on the Internet is known as “cyberbanging.” These days, Albuquerque youth clique, the Get Hard  Crew (GHC) have added a new element to the mix by openly threatening law enforcement agencies and probation officers online. Guns and all.

According to Albuquerque Police Lt. Michelle Campbell, the GHC is a group of boys of a “very young age,” allegedly responsible for widespread violence and other crimes. Law enforcement was concerned when the GHC started beefing out with another local kiddie gang known as “Cuervo.” Now their concerns are their own safety after the youths posted pictures brandishing straps and making directed, chilling threats. “They told one of my sergeants, ’You’re disrespecting our hood…and you need to get out of here,’” said Campbell, according to KOAT.

Juvenile probation officers are also allegedly in the GHC’s cyber shit list. “We were made aware that people were potentially wanting to harm our juvenile probation officers, potentially doing it by having them come inside their homes,” said Children, Youth and Families Department Secretary Monique Jacobson.

As a result, APD says it’s keeping a running log of GHC members, their aliases, relationships and other data. The department is also meeting with other agencies to share that information. CYFD’s juvenile probation office is now receiving additional training and doing in-home visits in teams of two.
