On the verge of the election Vic Mensa hit the Jimmy Kimmel Live with a performance of his defiant track “16 Shots.” With Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker backing him, Mensa delivered a powerful performance dedicated to Laquan McDonald who was killed in Chicago last year at the hand of the police. Accompanied by dancers in riot-gear when Mensa stopped the music to say, “I’m a young black man from Chicago and I’m tired of not being able to trust the police. I want to have faith in the men and women sworn to protect me.”
