Last week marked the release of Keke Palmer’s visual EP Lauren: a project draped head to toe in the beautifully raw transformation of the multi-faceted 23-year old.
“This is about a girl that you don’t know outside of the perfection of my fame and my popularity,” Palmer told PEOPLE. “This is a girl from Chicago, this is the foundation of who Keke is. So I wanted to introduce you to her.”
The 5-track project comes nearly a decade after her debut release So Uncool, and serves as a most fitting introduction to the young woman behind the celebrity.
The EP’s final track “Hands Free” wraps up the effort with a bit of a dancehall vibe, creating a celebratory and sultry anthem that weekend partying dreams are made of.
Fittingly, as we arrive at the end of what might just go down as the year’s most befuddling week, the “Hands Free” visual has been condensed into a 3 minute feel-good clip of its own. So, feel free to hit repeat as much as possible and hassle-free.
