Hollywood veterans Shemar Moore and Bill Bellamy attended a Chicago screening of their new feature film, The Bounce Back on Tuesday (November 15.) Reunited on-screen for the first time in 15  years since The Brothers, the two return in the romantic comedy all about finding the courage to love again after disappointment.

a-shemar-moore-bill-bellamy“I think there is a wonderful poetry to the idea of risking it all for love,” states the Criminal Minds star, “After I put down the screenplay for The Bounce Back, I knew I had to make this movie simply because I believe in love all the way down to the fabric of my being.”

He has got it all figured out- or so he thinks, until he meets the Kristin Peralta (Nadine Velazquez), a therapist who’s convinced he’s nothing but a fraud. That’s when Matthew’s life gets flipped upside down when he inadvertently falls head over heels for Kristin and is forced to face the painful truth of his past relationship.

After walking the red carpet and taking pictures with adorning fans, ticket holders were treated to an advanced screening of the film, where the two actors stayed around afterwards for a panel Q&A.

The Bounce Back is no ordinary film, as the Oakland, California native expressed how he didn’t have the support of Hollywood, and thanks to grassroots efforts and his loyal fan base kicking off the initial funding, the comedy came to fruition, solidified by Moore’s personal contribution.

The Bounce Back bounces to theaters nationwide on December 9.
