T.I‘s decision to skip out on a high school graduation party is going to cost him.
The king of the south missed a scheduled gig at a graduation bash in Florida, and the event organizers are looking to recoup the $390,000 spent on booking and marketing. According to reports, Tip’s team lied to organizers of the huge graduation party and left them with the large bill when he backed out on performing.
In the lawsuit, Planet Productions says that T.I.’s gangster reputation after the shooting at his May concert at Irving Plaza in New York made them leery about him headlining a high school graduation party in Florida, but Tip’s agency reassured them everything would be fine. The suit also says that party planners took T.I.’s team’s word and spent more than $10k per day to promote and sell show tix. Planet Productions says a few days after that, Tip canceled on them, so they are suing him and his team for the $300k dropped on marketing and licensing costs plus the $90k to book him.
T.I., who’s usually vocal about everything via social media, has yet to respond to allegations.
